Instructions
Prepare the Rice
Soak the glutinous rice in water for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Drain and rinse the rice.
Cook the Rice
Steam the soaked rice in a steamer lined with cheesecloth for about 25-30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and translucent.
Make Coconut Sauce
In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Do not let it boil.
Combine Rice and Coconut Sauce
Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and pour about 3/4 of the coconut sauce over the rice. Mix well and let it sit for 15-20 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Prepare the Mango
While the rice is resting, peel and slice the ripe mangoes.
Serve
To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, drizzle with the remaining coconut sauce, and top with mango slices. Garnish with sesame seeds or mung beans.
