Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass (optional)

1

Salt rim (optional)

If you prefer a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the glass edge, then dip the rim into a shallow plate with coarse salt. Set glass aside.

Make Cocktail

2

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about 3/4 full). Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 0.5 oz reposado tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz fresh grapefruit juice, 0.5 oz agave syrup, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, and 2 dashes of aromatic bitters.

3

Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well-chilled.

4

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared chilled coupe or rocks glass (over fresh ice if desired) using a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any pulp.

Finish & Serve

5

Express the grapefruit twist over the drink by holding it skin-side down about 2–3 inches above the surface and giving it a firm twist to release oils. Rub the twist on the glass rim and place it on the drink (or float a grapefruit wheel).

6

Serve immediately. Taste and adjust future batches by increasing agave for more sweetness, grapefruit for tartness, or reposado for a warmer oak note.
