1

Prepare glass

Chill a coupe or martini glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you build the cocktail.

2

Rinse (optional)

If using the optional rinse, discard the ice water from the chilled glass, pour 0.25 oz peach brandy or apricot liqueur into the glass, swirl to coat the inside, then discard any excess. Set the rinsed glass aside.

3

Combine ingredients

Fill a mixing glass with 8 ice cubes. Add 2 oz vodka, 0.5 oz dry vermouth, 0.25 oz elderflower liqueur, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes orange bitters.

4

Stir and chill

Stir the mixture briskly for 20–30 seconds (about 15–20 full spoon rotations) until the outside of the mixing glass is well chilled and slightly frosted. This dilutes and chills the drink properly without over-aerating.

5

Strain and garnish

Double-strain the mixed cocktail into the prepared chilled coupe or martini glass to remove small ice shards. Express a lemon twist over the surface to release oils, run it around the rim, and drop it into the drink. Optionally, float a lavender sprig or edible flower on top for aroma and presentation.
