Muddle the Ingredients
In an Old Fashioned glass, place the sugar cube and add the Angostura bitters and water. Muddle them together until the sugar is dissolved.

Add Whiskey
Fill the glass with ice and pour the bourbon or rye whiskey over the ice.

Garnish
Stir gently to combine. Garnish with the orange peel and a maraschino cherry on top.
