- 1
Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices and arrange them on a baking sheet.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Drizzle the bread slices with olive oil and place them in the oven. Toast for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 3
Prepare the Topping
While the bread is toasting, chop the fresh tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl. Tear the basil leaves into small pieces and add them to the bowl.
- 4
Add Cheese and Seasoning
Dice the mozzarella cheese and add it to the bowl with the tomatoes and basil. Mince the garlic cloves and add them as well. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Drizzle with a little more olive oil and gently mix all the ingredients.
- 5
Assemble the Bruschetta
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato, basil, and mozzarella mixture generously onto each slice of toasted bread.
