Blackberry Simple Syrup

Method

Blackberry Simple Syrup Preparation

1

Prepare the Simple Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh blackberries, granulated sugar, and water.

2

Cook the Mixture

Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has completely dissolved and the blackberries have broken down, about 5-7 minutes.

3

Strain the Syrup

Remove from heat and let it cool. Once cooled, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to separate the solids from the liquid.

4

Store the Syrup

Transfer the syrup to a clean bottle or jar and refrigerate. It can be stored for up to two weeks.

Cocktail Assembly

5

Prepare the Glass

Fill a copper mug or highball glass with ice cubes.

6

Add the Syrup

Pour 2 oz of the blackberry simple syrup over the ice.

7

Add Lime Juice

Pour in 1 oz of fresh lime juice.

8

Top with Ginger Beer

Slowly pour 12 oz of ginger beer into the glass, allowing it to mix gently.

9

Garnish and Serve

Garnish with fresh blackberries and lime wedges. Serve immediately and enjoy!
