Classic House Cocktails (Makes 1 each)
Batching / Tools
Method
Old Fashioned (Bourbon)
Build & Stir
Place a rocks glass on the bar. Add 2 oz bourbon, 0.5 oz simple syrup and 2 dashes Angostura bitters into a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir gently for 20–30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.
Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube or fresh ice. Express an orange peel over the drink (pinch the peel to release oils) then rub the peel rim and drop it in as garnish.
Manhattan (Rye)
Stir & Serve
Combine 2 oz rye whiskey and 1 oz sweet vermouth with 2–3 dashes of Angostura bitters in a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir for 20–30 seconds until chilled and slightly diluted.
Martini (Dry Gin)
Margarita (Tequila)
Rim & Shake
Optional: rub a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass and dip into coarse salt to coat. In a shaker, combine 2 oz tequila blanco, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice and 0.75 oz Cointreau (or triple sec) with ice.
Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled. Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice or serve neat. Garnish with a lime wheel.
Mojito (White Rum)
Muddle & Build
In a highball or Collins glass, add 8 fresh mint leaves, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice and 0.75 oz simple syrup. Gently muddle the mint to release oils (don’t shred).
Batching & Service Notes
To serve multiple guests quickly, scale ingredients linearly (e.g., for 6 Old Fashioneds multiply each ingredient by 6) and pre-batch spirits and syrups in a clean bottle. Add bitters and citrus (where fresh juice is required) just before serving for best flavor.
Always use fresh citrus for cocktails calling for lime or orange juice. Adjust sweetness to taste by increasing or decreasing simple syrup in 0.25 oz increments.
Chill glassware ahead of service for stirred or neat cocktails. Use large ice cubes for slow dilution in spirit-forward drinks and crushed or cubed ice for highballs and shaken cocktails.
