Preparation of Clams
- 1
Clean the Clams
Place the clams in a large bowl of cold water with a generous amount of salt. Let them soak for about 30 minutes to remove any sand or grit. Rinse them under cold water and set aside.
Cooking
- 2
Sauté Garlic
In a large pot or deep skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.
- 3
Add Liquids
Pour in the white wine, water, and lemon juice into the pot. Stir well and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- 4
Steam the Clams
Add the cleaned clams to the pot, cover with a lid, and steam for 5-7 minutes or until the clams open. Discard any clams that do not open.
- 5
Finish and Garnish
Once the clams are cooked, sprinkle with chopped parsley and give a gentle stir to combine.
