French Toast

Bourbon Maple Syrup

Candied Walnuts

Cinnamon Compound Butter

Method

French Toast

  1. 1

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Soak the Bread

Preheat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 30 seconds on each side.

  3. 3

    Cook the French Toast

Place the soaked bread slices onto the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Add more butter as needed.

Bourbon Maple Syrup

  1. 4

    Combine Syrup and Bourbon

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the maple syrup and bourbon. Stir gently until warm and well mixed.

Candied Walnuts

  1. 5

    Prepare the Walnuts

In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter, then add the walnuts, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt.

  2. 6

    Candy the Walnuts

Cook the walnuts, stirring frequently, until they are toasted and the sugar has melted, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

Cinnamon Compound Butter

  1. 7

    Mix the Compound Butter

In a bowl, combine the softened butter, ground cinnamon, and powdered sugar. Mix well until creamy and smooth.

  2. 8

    Chill the Compound Butter

Transfer the mixture to a piece of parchment paper, roll it into a log shape, and refrigerate until firm.
