Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare Cocktail

Add the reposado tequila, fresh ruby grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, agave syrup, Aperol, and orange bitters into a cocktail shaker.

  2. 2

Fill the shaker with ice (about 3/4 full or roughly 1 cup) and cap. Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and you see proper dilution and aeration.

  3. 3

Fill an old-fashioned glass (or rocks glass) with fresh ice.

  4. 4

Double-strain the shaken mixture over the fresh ice to remove small ice chips and pulp for a smoother drink.

  5. 5

Garnish with a grapefruit twist or a thin grapefruit wheel laid on the ice. If using, float a thin slice of chile on top for an extra spicy aroma.

Garnish & Rimming

  1. 6

On a small plate, mix the salt and sugar. Run the lime wedge around the rim of your glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into the salt-sugar mixture, rotating to coat evenly. Shake off excess.

  2. 7

If you prefer no rim, simply garnish as described above with grapefruit and optional chile.
