Cake Ingredients

Method

Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

2

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, matcha green tea powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3

Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

4

Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

5

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry mixture. Mix until just combined.

6

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7

Cool the Cake

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Topping Preparation

8

Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream and powdered sugar. Using an electric mixer, whip until soft peaks form.

9

Assemble the Cake

Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the whipped cream evenly over the top. Top with mixed fresh berries.

10

Serve

Slice the cake and serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.
