Preparation of Oolong Tea

Brew Oolong Tea

Boil water and steep 1 oz of Oolong tea in hot water for 3-5 minutes. Strain and let it cool to room temperature.

Preparing Brown Butter

Make Brown Butter

In a small saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter over medium heat. Continue to cook until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mixing the Cocktail

Combine Ingredients

In a mixing glass, combine 1 oz of Santiago de Cuba 8yr Rum, 1 oz of Bulleit Bourbon, and 1 tablespoon of brown butter. Add the cooled Oolong tea and ice.

Stir the Mixture

Stir the mixture with a bar spoon for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

Strain into Glass

Strain the cocktail into an old fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.

Garnish your Coolong Old Fashioned with a slice of orange peel and a maraschino cherry on top.
