Preparation
Wash and prep produce
Thoroughly wash all produce under cold running water. For carrots and celery, scrub to remove dirt. Trim carrot ends and peel if desired; cut into pieces small enough to fit your juicer feed chute. Trim celery stalk bases and cut into similar-size pieces. For oranges, roll each on the counter with firm pressure to loosen juices, then cut in half crosswise.
Optional chilling
If you prefer a very cold juice, place the prepared produce in the refrigerator for 15–30 minutes or add ice to the serving glass later. Do not freeze or overly chill citrus before juicing as cold temperature can reduce juice yield slightly.
Juicing - Citrus (Orange Juice)
Using a hand or electric citrus juicer, juice the orange halves until mostly dry. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher if you want pulp-free juice; otherwise, leave as is for a pulpy texture. Taste and if desired, stir in up to 1 tsp honey or agave and 1/2 lemon or lime juice to brighten flavor. Add up to 1/4 cup cold water only if the juice is too concentrated for your taste.
Fill the serving glass with ice (about 1 cup), pour the juice over ice, stir briefly, and serve immediately.
Juicing - Root (Carrot Juice)
Feed carrot pieces through an electric juicer or use a high-speed cold-press/centrifugal juicer. Collect juice in the pitcher. If you prefer a smoother juice, strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove excessive fiber.
Pour over ice in the serving glass and serve immediately.
Juicing - Greens (Celery Juice)
Feed celery stalks through an electric juicer. Celery yields a relatively mild, watery juice; collect in the pitcher. For a smoother drink, strain through a fine mesh strainer (this step is optional).
Season celery juice with a small pinch of salt if desired and/or a squeeze (about 1/2) of lemon or lime to brighten the flavor. Do not add sweetener unless preferred—celery is typically enjoyed savory.
Pour over ice and serve immediately.
Finishing & Serving
Taste the prepared juice and adjust: add more citrus for brightness, a touch of sweetener for balance (carrot or orange), or a pinch of salt for celery. Stir gently to combine any additions.
Serve immediately over ice for best flavor and freshness. Fresh juices are best consumed within 12–24 hours refrigerated in a sealed container; separation is natural—shake or stir before serving.
