1

Chill and prep

Ensure the sparkling wine and the orange juice are well chilled (ideally 1–2 hours in the refrigerator). If using whole oranges, roll them on the counter with light pressure to loosen juices, then cut and squeeze to yield fresh orange juice. Strain if you prefer pulp-free juice.

2

Glassware

Select chilled champagne flutes or coupe glasses. If you prefer to serve from a pitcher for a group, chill the pitcher in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes and add ice cubes just before pouring.

3

Mix

Pour 1/2 cup of chilled sparkling wine into each glass, then follow with 1/2 cup of chilled orange juice. Pour gently down the side of the glass (or over a spoon held just above the liquid) to preserve bubbles and reduce foaming. Do not stir; let the layers gently combine.

4

Garnish and serve

Garnish each glass with an orange slice or twist on the rim. Serve immediately while fizzy and cold. If making in a pitcher, combine sparkling wine and orange juice in a chilled pitcher, add ice cubes if desired, then pour into glasses and garnish.
