Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare and chill glass

If you prefer a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the glass rim and dip the rim into a shallow plate of coarse salt. Fill the glass with a few ice cubes to chill while you mix the drink, then discard chill ice before pouring.

2

Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave syrup, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, and 2 dashes Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 12–15 seconds until the shaker feels very cold and slightly frosty.

4

Strain

Discard the chilling ice from the serving glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled glass over fresh ice (or serve neat in a chilled coupe if preferred) using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh strain to remove small shards of ice.

Garnish & Finish

5

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and a lime peel twist expressed over the surface to release oils. If using a salted rim, present the cocktail with the salt facing outward. Serve immediately.
