1

Chill glass

Place a martini coupe or stemmed cocktail glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you build the drink to chill the glass.

2

Measure and combine

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz vodka, 1 oz pomegranate liqueur, 0.5 oz triple sec, and 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice. If you prefer a slightly sweeter cocktail, add 0.25 oz simple syrup.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) to near the top. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–20 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and the mixture is well aerated and slightly diluted.

4

Prepare glass

If you chilled the glass with ice water, dump the ice water out now. Optionally, strain out any frost from the glass so it’s dry but cold.

5

Double strain and serve

Using a Hawthorne strainer (and a fine mesh strainer if you used fresh citrus or want to remove tiny ice shards), pour the cocktail into the chilled glass.

6

Garnish

Drop 1 teaspoon of pomegranate seeds into the center of the drink and twist a lemon peel over the surface to release oils, then either drop the twist or sit a thin lemon wheel on the rim.

7

Serve

Serve immediately while cold. Enjoy responsibly.
