Method

Cocktail

1

Combine and stir

Chill a mixing glass briefly with ice, then discard the chilling water. Add Redemption Bourbon (2 oz), Lillet Blanc (0.75 oz), Amaro Nonino (0.5 oz), Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur (0.25 oz), 2 dashes orange bitters, and 1 dash Angostura bitters to the mixing glass.

2

Dilute and chill

Fill the mixing glass with fresh ice and stir gently but steadily for 20–30 seconds (about 15–20 full rotations) until the mixture is well chilled and properly diluted (glass should feel very cold and lightly frosted).

3

Prepare glass

Place one large ice cube into a chilled old-fashioned or rocks glass.

4

Strain

Using a hawthorne or julep strainer, strain the stirred cocktail over the large ice cube into the prepared glass, leaving any small shards behind in the mixing glass.

Garnish & Finish

5

Express and garnish

Take an orange peel and hold it skin-side down over the drink. Give it a firm twist to express the oils over the surface, then rim the glass with the peel and drop it into the drink as garnish.

6

Serve immediately. The combination of Lillet and Amaro Nonino brightens the bourbon while the Solerno and orange bitters lift citrus notes; sip slowly.
