Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Rinse the black raspberries under cold water and remove any stems or leaves.
- 2
Make the Mixture
In a medium saucepan, combine the black raspberries, granulated sugar, fresh lemon juice, and water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- 3
Cook the Mixture
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the raspberries break down and the mixture thickens slightly.
- 4
Strain the Mixture
Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. Then, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds, pressing down to extract as much liquid as possible.
- 5
Cool and Serve
Let the strained liquid cool completely. Serve chilled as a sour sauce or drink, or use it as a topping for desserts.
