Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Glass

Rinse a chilled old-fashioned glass with absinthe, swirling it around to coat the inside, then discard any excess.

  2. 2

    Muddle the Sugar

In a separate mixing glass, muddle the sugar cube with the Angostura and Peychaud's bitters until the sugar is dissolved.

  3. 3

    Mix the Drink

Add the Old Overholt Rye and ice to the mixing glass, then stir until well chilled.

  4. 4

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. Optionally, you can garnish with a lemon twist by expressing the oils over the drink.
