Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare the glass

Rub a grapefruit wedge around the rim of a highball or Collins glass, then dip the rim into the salt to lightly coat. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.

2

Shake the base

In a cocktail shaker, combine blanco tequila (2 oz), fresh grapefruit juice (2 oz), fresh lime juice (0.5 oz), pineapple juice (1 oz), orange liqueur (0.5 oz), and agave syrup (0.5 oz). Add a handful of ice (about 4-6 cubes). Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

3

Strain and top

Double-strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Top with grapefruit soda (3 oz). If using club soda, add 3 oz club soda plus an extra 0.5 oz fresh grapefruit juice to maintain flavor.

4

Stir gently

Give the drink one or two gentle stirs with a bar spoon to integrate the soda without flattening the bubbles.

Garnish

5

Thread a grapefruit wheel and a pineapple wedge or leaf on the rim or skewer and add a mint sprig for aroma. Serve immediately with a straw.
