Prepare Base Spirits
Measure and combine
Measure 150 ml each of tequila, vodka, white rum, gin, and triple sec into a large pour pitcher or clean 2-liter bottle. This yields a total of 750 ml of combined base spirits.
Seal the bottle or cover the pitcher and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes if preparing ahead. Chilling helps the tower pour cooler into glasses and reduces dilution when combined with ice and cola.
Mixers & Prepping Ice
In a small mixing container, combine 120 ml fresh lime juice and 60 ml simple syrup. Stir until fully blended. Taste and adjust: if you prefer tarter, add up to 15 ml more lime; for sweeter, add up to 15 ml more simple syrup.
Fill a large serving tower or a 2–3 liter beverage dispenser with crushed ice, leaving room at the top for liquids and garnishes. If using individual glasses, place a generous handful of crushed ice in each glass (about 250 g per glass if serving 8).
Assemble The OG Island Lit Tower
Pour the chilled combined base spirits (750 ml) evenly over the crushed ice in the tower or beverage dispenser.
Add the lime-syrup mixture (about 180 ml total) into the tower and gently stir once with a long spoon or paddle to incorporate the citrus and sweetener with the spirits. Do not over-stir; you want a light integration so the cola will still produce a layered effervescent finish.
Slowly top the mixture with chilled cola (approximately 1000 ml) poured down the side of the dispenser or over the back of a spoon to preserve some carbonation and create a slight layered look between citrus/spirits and cola. You may adjust cola amount to taste — more cola for lighter strength, less for stronger drink.
Serve
If serving from a tower/dispenser: place a lime wheel and a mint sprig into each glass, then dispense into glasses filled with fresh crushed ice (about 250 g ice per glass). If pouring directly into glasses without a dispenser, fill each glass with crushed ice, add 30–40 ml of the spirit mixture per glass and 30–60 ml of lime-syrup mix, then top with 120–150 ml cola and gently stir once.
Storage & Notes
Leftover spirit blend (without cola) can be stored refrigerated in a sealed bottle for up to 2 weeks. Do not pre-mix with cola; carbonation and flavor degrade quickly. Keep ice and garnishes fresh and prepare cola just before serving.
