If you want a salted or sugared rim, rub the lime wedge around the glass rim to moisten it, then dip the rim into the sugar or salt spread on a small plate. Set the glass aside.

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add the blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, agave syrup, and triple sec.

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels cold and slightly frosty.

Strain and serve

Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice if desired, or serve neat in a chilled coupe. Garnish with the lime wedge.
