Method

Prepare Glass

1

Chill glass

If possible, chill the serving glass in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes before making the drink to keep the drink colder longer.

2

Add ice cubes to the chilled glass until about half to three-quarters full (approximately 1 cup of ice).

Mix Drink

3

Pour 2 cups of cold Sprite (or any lemon-lime soda) into a measuring cup or pitcher. If you prefer a slightly less sweet or less fizzy drink for kids, add 1/2 cup cold water and stir gently to combine.

4

Stir in 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice. These add a fresh citrus brightness that balances the sweetness. If the child prefers sweeter, add 1 teaspoon simple syrup and stir until combined.

5

Taste briefly and adjust: add up to 1 more teaspoon simple syrup for sweetness or an extra teaspoon lemon/lime juice for more tartness.

Finish & Garnish

6

Pour the mixed soda over the ice in the prepared glass. Pour gently to preserve carbonation.

7

Garnish the rim or float the lemon and lime slices on top. Add a small sprig of fresh mint if using, slapped lightly between your hands first to release aroma.

8

Serve immediately with a straw or short spoon for stirring.
