Method
Preparing the Taco Shells
- 1
Heat Taco Shells
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place taco shells on a baking sheet and heat them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until warm and slightly crispy.
Preparing the Filling
- 2
Cook Ground Beef
In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 cup of ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- 3
Cook Shredded Chicken
If using shredded chicken, heat it in a separate skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until warmed through.
- 4
Prepare Black Beans
Rinse and drain 1 cup of black beans. You can heat them in a small saucepan over low heat for about 3-5 minutes.
Assembling the Tacos
- 5
Fill the Tacos
Once the taco shells are heated, fill each shell with your choice of filling: ground beef, shredded chicken, or black beans. Add chopped onions and bell peppers on top.
- 6
Add Toppings
Top each taco with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, salsa, and avocado slices to taste.
