Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into six equal triangles to create chips.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Season the Chips

Sprinkle salt over the warm chips while they are still hot for best flavor.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop the Ingredients

Dice the tomatoes and onion, finely chop the jalapeño (removing seeds for less heat if desired), and chop the cilantro.

  2. 6

    Mix the Salsa

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and jalapeño.

  3. 7

    Add Lime Juice and Salt

Pour lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle with salt. Stir gently to combine.

  4. 8

    Let the Salsa Rest

Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes at room temperature to let the flavors meld together.
