Making Sourdough Bread

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine bread flour and salt. In another bowl, mix water and sourdough starter until dissolved. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4-6 hours at room temperature, or until doubled in size.
- 4
Shape and Second Rise
Gently deflate the dough, shape it into a round loaf, and place it in a floured proofing basket. Cover and let it rise for another 2-3 hours.
- 5
Bake
Preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F). Carefully turn the dough onto a baking stone or sheet, score the top, and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.

- 9
Bake
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and bake the pastries for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
