Preparation

Making Sourdough Bread

1. Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine bread flour and salt. In another bowl, mix water and sourdough starter until dissolved. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

2. Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

3. First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4-6 hours at room temperature, or until doubled in size.

4. Shape and Second Rise

Gently deflate the dough, shape it into a round loaf, and place it in a floured proofing basket. Cover and let it rise for another 2-3 hours.

5. Bake

Preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F). Carefully turn the dough onto a baking stone or sheet, score the top, and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.

Making Pastries

6. Prepare Dough

In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and mix until a dough forms.

7. Chill and Roll

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.

8. Cut and Shape

Cut the dough into desired shapes (triangles, squares, etc.) and place them on a baking sheet.

9. Bake

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and bake the pastries for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Brewing Coffee and Tea

10. Brew Coffee

Grind coffee beans and brew with 250 ml of hot water using your preferred method (French press, drip, etc.).

11. Brew Tea

Steep tea leaves in hot water for about 3-5 minutes, depending on the type of tea.
