Prep & Rim
- 1
If you prefer a salted rim, pour the salt onto a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the outside rim of a rocks or coupe glass to moisten it, then press the rim into the salt to coat. Set the glass aside in the freezer or on the counter to chill while you mix the cocktail.
Mixing
- 2
Add the Herradura Reposado tequila (2 oz), Cointreau (1 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz) and agave syrup (0.25 oz, optional for balance) to a cocktail shaker.
- 3
Fill the shaker with ice (about 6 large cubes). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.
- 4
Garnish
- 5
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
