Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to properly chill.

2

Combine ingredients

In a mixing glass add 2 oz Bulleit Rye, 1 oz Martini & Rossi Sweet Vermouth, and 2 dashes Angostura bitters.

3

Add ice and stir

Fill the mixing glass with large ice cubes (about 6). Using a bar spoon, stir gently but thoroughly for 30–45 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted (the mixing glass should feel cold to the touch).

4

Strain

Discard ice or water from the chilled serving glass. Place a julep or Hawthorne strainer over the mixing glass and strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass.

5

Garnish and serve

Skewer 1 Luxardo maraschino cherry (or brandied cherry) on a pick and place it in the glass. Serve immediately.
