Chill the bottle: ensure the Peroni bottle is well chilled (about 3–4°C / 38–40°F). Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Prepare the glass: if you prefer your lager very cold, place 3–4 ice cubes in a tall pilsner or beer glass. Alternatively, place the glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes to chill without diluting the beer.

Open the bottle carefully: hold the bottle at a slight angle (about 45°) and open to minimize foam. Pouring at an angle will help control the head.

Pour the beer: tilt the chilled glass at about 45°. Pour the Peroni slowly down the side of the glass until it is about three-quarters full. When the glass is three-quarters full, gradually straighten it and finish the pour into the center to create a modest head of about 1–1.5 cm (0.4–0.6 in).

Garnish and serve: optionally squeeze a lemon wedge lightly over the beer and drop the wedge into the glass or serve it on the rim. Serve immediately while cold.
