Base & Fruit

Method

Base & Fruit

1

Prepare strawberries

Hull and quarter the fresh strawberries. Place them in a small mixing bowl or the cup of a handheld blender.

2

Macerate

Add the granulated sugar and fresh lime juice to the strawberries. Muddle thoroughly with a muddler or the back of a spoon until the berries break down and release juice (about 30–45 seconds). If using a blender, pulse 2–3 times for a slightly smoother texture.

3

Combine with guava

Add the guava puree or strained guava nectar to the muddled strawberries and stir until homogenous. Taste and adjust sweetness with an additional 1/2 teaspoon sugar if needed.

Carbonation & Finish

4

Assemble the drink

Fill a tall glass (12–16 oz) with the cup of ice. Spoon the strawberry-guava mixture over the ice, distributing solids and juices evenly.

5

Add Topo Chico

Slowly pour the chilled Topo Chico over the fruit mixture to preserve carbonation, pouring down the side of the glass. Gently stir once with a bar spoon (1–2 turns) to combine — avoid vigorous stirring to keep bubbles.

6

Garnish and finish

Lightly clap the mint leaves between your palms to release aroma and add them to the top of the drink along with a lime wheel and a strawberry slice on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw or strawless.
