Method
Preparation of Cauliflower
Prepare the Cauliflower
Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets and set aside.
Make the Batter
In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and water. Whisk until smooth.
Fry the Cauliflower
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Dip each cauliflower floret in the batter and fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Preparation of Orange Chili Glaze
Make the Glaze
In a saucepan, combine fresh orange juice, soy sauce, honey, chili paste, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Thicken the Glaze
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Add to the saucepan and stir until the glaze thickens. Remove from heat.
Final Assembly
Toss Cauliflower in Glaze
In a large bowl, toss the fried cauliflower with the orange chili glaze until well-coated.
Garnish and Serve
Plate the glazed cauliflower and garnish with sliced green onions and black sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
