Method
Preparing the Coffee Mixture
Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool slightly.
Mix Coffee with Liqueur
In a shallow bowl, combine the brewed espresso with 1 tablespoon of coffee liqueur. Set aside.
Making the Cream Mixture
Prepare the Eggs
Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Place the yolks in a large mixing bowl.
Whip the Egg Yolks
Add 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar to the egg yolks and whisk until pale and creamy.
Incorporate Mascarpone
Add 500 grams of mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk mixture and mix until smooth.
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined. Be careful not to deflate the cream.
Assembling the Tiramisu
Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
Layer the Ingredients
Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers.
Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone cream mixture on top.
Chilling and Serving
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Garnish and Serve
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with chocolate shavings. Cut into squares and enjoy!
