Citrus Basil Martini

Method

Citrus Basil Martini

1

Muddle and Mix

Place 6 fresh basil leaves and 0.5 oz simple syrup into a cocktail shaker. Gently muddle the basil with the syrup 6–8 times to release aromatic oils (avoid shredding to prevent bitterness).

2

Add Liquids

Add 2 oz gin (or vodka), 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice and a handful of ice (about 1 cup) to the shaker.

3

Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and the drink is well-chilled.

4

Strain and Serve

Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled martini glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove basil solids and ice shards.

5

Garnish

Express a lemon twist over the drink to release oils, rub the rim with the twist (optional), then drop it in as a garnish.

Cucumber Elderflower Martini

6

Muddle Cucumber

Place three thin cucumber slices in a cocktail shaker and gently muddle 6–8 times to release fresh cucumber juice without overworking (do not pulverize).

7

Add Ingredients

Add 2 oz vodka, 0.5 oz St-Germain, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.25 oz simple syrup (if using) to the shaker along with about 1 cup of ice.

8

Shake

Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled.

9

Double Strain

Double-strain into a chilled martini glass (fine mesh + strainer) to keep the drink clear of cucumber bits.

10

Garnish

Thread a long cucumber ribbon into the glass or drape it inside the glass for a visual and aromatic garnish.

Espresso Chocolate Martini

11

Chill Espresso

Brew 1 oz of espresso and allow it to cool to room temperature (or chill briefly). Cold espresso prevents dilution and preserves crema when shaking.

12

Build Cocktail

In a shaker add 1.5 oz vodka, 0.75 oz coffee liqueur, 0.5 oz chocolate liqueur, 1 oz cooled espresso and 0.25 oz simple syrup if you prefer sweeter cocktails. Add about 1 cup of ice.

13

Shake Hard

Shake very vigorously for 15–20 seconds to aerate and create a light, foamy crema on top of the martini.

14

Strain

Fine-strain into a chilled martini glass to achieve a smooth surface and remove ice shards.

15

Garnish

Float 3 coffee beans on top for aroma and a classic finish.
