Method

Prepare Glass

    Optional sugar rim

    If you want a sugared rim, rub a lemon wedge around the rim of a highball or Collins glass, then dip the rim into coarse sugar to coat evenly. Fill the glass with crushed ice and set aside.

Mix Cocktail

    Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.

    Add vodka (6 oz), fresh lemonade (8 oz), fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz) and simple syrup (0.5 oz) into the shaker. If using orange liqueur for a touch of citrus complexity, add 0.5 oz now.

    Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 8–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels cold.

Finish & Serve

    Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass filled with crushed ice.

    Top with club soda or sparkling water (about 2 oz) to add effervescence. Stir gently once to combine.

    Garnish with a lemon wheel or wedge and a sprig of fresh mint. Serve immediately with a stirring straw or long spoon.
