Method
Prepare
Chill and muddle
Place your copper mule mug or highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice to chill while you prepare ingredients. In a mixing glass or the serving mug, add the fresh mint leaves and the 0.25 oz simple syrup (use only if you prefer a slightly sweeter mule). Gently muddle the mint 3–4 times—press to release aromatics but avoid shredding the leaves.
Add spirits and citrus
Measure 2 oz vodka and 0.5 oz fresh lime juice with a jigger and pour into the muddled mint. Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters. Stir gently with a bar spoon to combine and chill slightly (about 6–8 gentle stirs).
Assemble
Top with 4 oz ginger beer. Pour slowly to preserve carbonation and create a gentle lift of ingredients.
Give the drink one short, gentle stir (2–3 turns) to integrate ginger beer with the spirit and mint without flattening the fizz.
Garnish & Serve
Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim and a sprig of fresh mint. Clap the mint sprig lightly between your palms (optional) to release aroma before placing it in the drink.
Serve immediately with a short straw. Encourage the drinker to sip near the mint to enjoy the aromatic profile.
