Method
Basic Mimosa Components (per carafe serving ~8 mimosas)
Chill sparkling wine and orange juice thoroughly for at least 2–3 hours before service. Mimosas are best when both components are very cold.
Set out an ice bucket or cooler filled with ice to keep extra bottles chilled during the 11am–3pm service.
Batching (1 bottle to ~48 fl oz OJ)
For each bottle of sparkling wine (750 ml), pour approximately 48 fl oz (about 6 cups) of fresh orange juice into a chilled carafe or pitcher. Ratio guideline: 1 part sparkling wine to 2 parts orange juice for a fruit-forward mimosa; for drier, do 1:1. Adjust to taste. Do not pour the sparkling wine into the juice ahead of time if you prefer maximum effervescence; alternatively, proportion into a chilled carafe and gently stir once.
If batching ahead, gently stir once with a long spoon to combine — avoid vigorous stirring to preserve bubbles. Keep batched carafe chilled on ice or in a cooler; replenish as needed.
Individual Pour
When serving, pour sparkling wine into each flute first (about 1.5–2 fl oz), then top with orange juice (about 3–4 fl oz) to reach ~5–6 fl oz total. Pouring wine first reduces foam and helps retain bubbles.
Garnish each glass with a thin orange slice on the rim or floated in the flute. Serve immediately.
Flavor Variation Add-ins (optional, per 1 bottle batch)
Bellini-style (Peach)
For a peach variation, add 8 fl oz peach purée or nectar to the 48 fl oz orange-juice batch (or replace some orange juice). Gently stir to combine. Serve as with the basic mimosa, or pour 1–2 tbs peach purée directly into each flute then top with sparkling wine for more visual appeal.
Cranberry or Pomegranate Mimosa
Substitute 6–8 fl oz of the orange juice with cranberry or pomegranate juice for a rosier, tangy mimosa. Taste and adjust; if too tart, add 1–2 tbs simple syrup per carafe.
Floral & Liqueur Boosts
For an elevated option, add 1/2 tsp (or up to 1 tbs per carafe) elderflower liqueur or 1 tbs orange liqueur per carafe. Keep additions minimal to avoid overpowering the bubbly.
Label flavor carafes clearly at the service station so guests or servers can identify their preferred variation.
Glassware & Service Station
Setup
Arrange clean chilled flutes, carafes filled with batched mimosas or separate chilled components (wine + juices), garnishes, measuring tools, and ice at an accessible station. Keep backup bottles of sparkling wine in the ice bucket to change out quickly.
Service Tips for Bottomless Promotion
Limit pours to one glass at a time per guest and monitor pace for safety. Offer non-alcoholic alternatives (sparkling water, soda, or juice) for guests who prefer to alternate. Track time windows (11am–3pm) and note that bottomless applies only with purchase of an entree package.
Refilling
When refilling flutes, follow the individual pour method: wine first then juice to minimize foam. Replace carafes and keep everything chilled. Clean any sticky spills immediately and rotate glassware to maintain hygiene.
