Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Fill a coupe or martini glass with ice or place it in the freezer to chill while you build the drink.

2

Add gin, triple sec, fresh blood orange juice, fresh lemon juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.

3

Fill the shaker with ice (enough to nearly fill it). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and the outside is frosty.

4

Discard the ice from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass using a strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and pulp for a smooth finish.

Garnish & finish

5

Garnish with a blood orange wheel on the rim or a thin blood orange twist expressed over the cocktail to release oils, then place it on the surface.

6

Serve immediately. Optionally, for a slightly sweeter profile, brush a tiny amount of simple syrup on the rim before placing the orange wheel.
