Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Steak

Take the Prime New York Strip Steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This allows for even cooking.

2

Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil all over the steak. Season generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides. Press the seasonings into the meat.

3

Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over high heat until it is very hot, about 5 minutes.

4

Sear the Steak

Once the skillet is hot, place the steak in the pan. Sear for 4-5 minutes without moving it, allowing a nice crust to form.

5

Flip the Steak

Using tongs, flip the steak over and sear the other side for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time if you prefer a different doneness.

6

Add Butter and Herbs

During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the butter and fresh rosemary to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steak continuously as it finishes cooking.

7

Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and transfer it to a plate. Cover loosely with foil and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

8

Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly cooked Prime New York Strip!
