Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a rocks glass or coupe in the freezer for 5 minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz McQueen hibiscus gin, 0.5 oz triple sec, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 3 dashes Boston bitters.

3

Add ice and shake

Add 6 cubes of ice to the shaker. Cap and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the shaker is cold to the touch and well chilled.

4

Prepare serving glass

Discard the ice or water from the chilled serving glass and add 4–5 fresh ice cubes if serving on the rocks (or leave empty if serving up).

5

Strain

Double-strain the shaken cocktail into the prepared glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer to remove small ice shards and any pulp.

6

Garnish and finish

Add a hibiscus flower or a lemon twist as a garnish. Optionally express the lemon twist over the drink and rub the peel on the rim for aroma. Serve immediately.
