Base

Method

Hot Ovaltine

1

Mix powder

Place 3 tablespoons Ovaltine powder in a mug. If you prefer a smoother dissolve and more intense flavor, add 2 tablespoons hot water and stir to form a paste.

2

Heat milk

Heat 1 cup whole milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until steaming but not boiling (about 2–4 minutes), stirring occasionally to prevent a skin from forming. Alternatively microwave the milk in a microwave-safe container for 60–90 seconds until hot.

3

Combine

Pour the hot milk into the mug over the Ovaltine paste (or powder). Stir vigorously for 15–30 seconds until the powder is fully dissolved and the drink is smooth.

4

Adjust sweetness & flavor (optional)

Taste and, if desired, stir in up to 1 teaspoon granulated sugar and/or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir until dissolved.

5

Finish

Top with 2 tablespoons whipped cream and dust with 1 teaspoon cocoa powder if desired. Serve immediately.

Iced Ovaltine

6

Dissolve powder

In a heatproof measuring cup, mix 3 tablespoons Ovaltine with 2 tablespoons hot water and stir to dissolve. This prevents grit in the cold drink.

7

Assemble

Fill a tall glass with about 6 ice cubes. Pour the dissolved Ovaltine over the ice, then add 1 cup cold whole milk. Stir thoroughly to combine.

8

Sweeten or flavor (optional)

If desired, add up to 1 teaspoon sugar and/or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract; stir until incorporated.

9

Serve

Top with whipped cream and a light cocoa dusting if desired. Serve with a straw.
