Method
Espresso
Pull espresso
Fill portafilter with 18 g of finely ground espresso. Tamp evenly. Brew a double shot (about 60 ml) into a small heatproof pitcher using an espresso machine. If using a concentrated coffee alternative (Moka pot or strong cold brew concentrate), measure ~60 ml of strongly brewed coffee.
Allow the espresso to cool slightly (about 1 minute). If you prefer a colder drink quickly, place the pitcher in an ice bath for 30–60 seconds, but do not dilute the espresso.
Milk & Ice
Prepare glass
Fill a 12–16 oz (350–475 ml) serving glass with 1 cup (about 8 oz / 240 ml) of ice cubes, leaving room at the top for espresso and a small head if desired.
Sweeten & Flavor
Assemble & Serve
Combine espresso and milk
Pour the freshly brewed espresso slowly over the milk and ice. Pouring over ice helps cool the espresso and creates a layered look. Do not stir if you want a layered effect; stir gently with a spoon if you prefer a uniform color and flavor.
Finish
Top with optional whipped cream (2 tbsp) and a light dusting of cinnamon or cocoa (about 1 tsp) if desired. Serve immediately with a straw or stirring spoon.
