Main Ingredients

Optional Ingredients for Turkey Reuben

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients listed for the sandwich, ensuring that the corned beef is sliced thinly, the sauerkraut is drained, and the Swiss cheese is ready.

2

Optional Turkey Reuben Preparation

If making the turkey version, slice the turkey breast and prepare the coleslaw.

Cooking

3

Grill the Sandwich

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Butter one side of each slice of marble rye bread. Place two slices, butter-side down, in the skillet.

4

Layer the Ingredients

On the unbuttered side of the bread in the skillet, layer with corned beef (or turkey if using), followed by sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and a drizzle of 1000 island dressing.

5

Top and Grill

Top with the remaining slices of bread, butter-side up. Grill for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.

Serving

6

Slice and Serve

Once cooked, remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it sit for a minute. Slice in half and serve warm with additional 1000 island dressing on the side, if desired.
