Crepe Batter

Method

Crepe Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, milk, eggs, melted butter, sugar, and a pinch of salt until the mixture is smooth. Let the batter rest for at least 30 minutes at room temperature to allow the gluten to relax.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or crepe pan over medium heat. Lightly grease the pan with a little butter or oil.

Cooking the Crepes

  1. 3

    Cook the First Crepe

Pour about 1/2 cup of the crepe batter into the hot skillet, tilting the pan to spread the batter evenly across the surface. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until the edges start to lift and the bottom is lightly golden.

  2. 4

    Flip the Crepe

Using a spatula, carefully flip the crepe and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on the other side until golden brown. Remove the crepe from the skillet and place it on a plate. Repeat with the remaining batter to make a second crepe.

Filling and Serving

  1. 5

    Add the Filling (Optional)

Spread Nutella or chocolate spread over one side of each crepe. Add fresh fruits on top and a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.

  2. 6

    Fold and Serve

Fold the crepes in half or quarters, and serve immediately with additional fruits or toppings on the side.
