Stuffed Hashbrowns
Toast or Biscuit
Method
Prepare the Hashbrowns
- 1
Cook the Hashbrowns
In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the frozen hashbrowns, spreading them evenly. Cook until they are golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side. Season with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Prepare the Filling
In a separate pan, cook the bacon, sausage, or Canadian ham over medium heat until fully cooked. If using bacon, chop it into small pieces after cooking. In the same pan, scramble the eggs until fully cooked, then combine them with the meat and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- 3
Assemble the Hashbrowns
Once the hashbrowns are cooked, form them into a large 'patty' in the skillet. Spoon the egg, meat, and cheese mixture onto one half of the hashbrown patty. Fold the other half over the filling to create a hashbrown sandwich. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
Prepare the Gravy and Toast
- 4
Heat the Sausage Gravy
In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the country sausage gravy until heated through, stirring occasionally.
- 5
Toast or Bake the Biscuits
If serving with toast, toast the bread slices until golden brown. If using biscuits, follow the package instructions to heat them in the oven.
Serve
- 6
Plate the Dish
Carefully transfer the stuffed hashbrown to a plate. Generously pour the warm sausage gravy over the top.
- 7
Add Toast or Biscuit
Serve with toasted bread slices or warm biscuits on the side. Enjoy your stuffed hashbrowns!
