Method

Biscuit Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Biscuit Dough

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form and Bake Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Pat into a 1-inch thick circle and cut with a biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 4

    Fry the Eggs

In the same skillet, crack the eggs and cook to your desired doneness (sunny side up or over easy). Season with salt and pepper.

  3. 5

    Prepare Hash Browns

In the skillet, add the frozen hash browns and cook until crispy and golden, about 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  4. 6

    Melt the Cheese

Once the eggs are cooked, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Sausage Gravy Preparation

  1. 7

    Cook the Sausage

In a saucepan over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.

  2. 8

    Make the Gravy

Sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine. Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a simmer. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Assemble the Biscuit Stack

Split the baked biscuit in half and place on a plate. Top each half with the melted cheese and egg, followed by crispy bacon and hash browns.

  2. 10

    Serve with Gravy

Generously ladle the sausage gravy over the biscuit stacks and serve immediately.
