Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Shrimp

In a medium bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Toss to evenly coat the shrimp with the seasoning. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

Breading

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, add the breadcrumbs.

  2. 3

    Bread the Shrimp

Take each marinated shrimp, dredge it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, then coat it in the breadcrumbs. Place the breaded shrimp on a clean plate and repeat with the remaining shrimp.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.

  2. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes per side or until the shrimp turn golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the shrimp and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Side Dish

  1. 6

    Prepare the Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix and coleslaw dressing. Toss until the mixture is evenly coated. Set aside to let the flavors meld while you finish frying the shrimp.
