Preparing the Haddock

Prepare the Breading
In a shallow dish, combine all-purpose flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well.

Coat the Haddock
Dip each haddock fillet into the egg wash, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coat. Set aside.
Frying the Haddock

Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot, but not smoking.

Fry the Haddock
Carefully add the coated haddock fillets to the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Drain the Fish
Once cooked, remove the haddock from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Assembling the Sandwich

Prepare the Bun
Slice the bulkie rolls in half. Optionally, toast them lightly.

Add Ingredients
On the bottom half of each roll, layer a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato (sliced), a piece of fried haddock, a slice of cheddar cheese, and then top with the other half of the roll.

Serve with Tartar Sauce
Serve the fried haddock sandwiches with a side of tartar sauce and your choice of side.
