Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add Butter
Cut the cold butter into small pieces and add it to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Incorporate Buttermilk
Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Shape the Biscuits
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits.
Bake
Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they are touching. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with butter or your favorite jam.
