Cake Preparation
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and large egg yolks until well combined and slightly frothy.
Combine Mixtures
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Mix until combined.
Add Flour
Sift the all-purpose flour over the chocolate mixture and gently fold it in until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fill Ramekins
Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.
Bake
Bake the cakes in the preheated oven for about 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
Cool and Serve
Let the cakes cool for 1 minute before inverting onto plates. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
