Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare and chill

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes to chill while you assemble the cocktail.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add gin (2 tbs), lychee liqueur (1 tbs), fresh lemon juice (0.75 tbs), lychee syrup (1 tbs), and rose water (2 tsp). If using egg white for a silky foam, add the egg white now.

3

Dry shake (if using egg white)

If you added egg white, shake the mixture vigorously without ice for 15–20 seconds to emulsify and build foam.

4

Shake with ice

Add a generous handful of ice to the shaker. Seal and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well chilled.

5

Double strain and serve

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer. Double-strain the cocktail through a fine-mesh strainer into the glass to remove ice shards and any coagulated egg solids, producing a smooth texture.

Garnish

6

Skewer the drained canned lychee on a pick and rest it across the rim of the glass or drop it gently into the cocktail.

7

Optional: Add a single edible rose petal on the foam and/or a lemon twist on the rim for aroma and visual contrast.
